Bringing Neighbors and Friends Together for the Democratic Good
We are now very proud to add the great Ed Kelly to that impressive list. Mr. Kelly's list of offices and accomplishments are far too numerous to mention here, simply put he is a legend. Mr. Kelly served as Chairman of the Chicago Park District, 47th Ward Committeeman and Alderman, Chairman of the Democratic Party Slate Making Committee and is currently Chairman of Vision Illinois.
Tim Egan possesses a passion for two things that will make him a successful and respected public servant of the 43rd Ward in the City of Chicago; his family and community involvement. His civic commitment has ranged from youth basketball coach to being the lead organizer of charitable events that benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the IFSA Youth Burn Camp, Special Olympics and many, many others.
As the President and founder of the Chicago Irish Brotherhood, Tim has headed an organization responsible for thousands and thousands of dollars in donations to those less fortunate in the Chicagoland area. In June of 2005, representatives of the C.I.B. handed over their second consecutive check for $10,000 to the kids of the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance’s Camp I Am Me in what Tim describes as the "greatest success to date of an organization dedicated to helping others through friendship."
Tim believes so much in the efforts of the Make-A-Wish Foundation that just signing a check every year wasn't enough effort, so he was appointed to the M-A-W’s Finance Committee in 2005.
As a business professional Tim turned an award winning career in journalism and a stint in the stock market into an unequaled success as a health care administrator. Currently Tim is the Director of Outpatient Services and Managed Care Contracting at Norwegian American Hospital, a community health care center on Chicago’s West Side in Humboldt Park. Tim is responsible for the turnaround of a million-dollar operation that deals with corporations in the community. He is currently head of seven different departments within the hospital and negotiates Managed Care Contracts with major, nationwide insurance companies.
To further his involvement within the Chicago business community, Tim also serves as the Co-Chairman of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Drug Free Workplace Committee.
After a collegiate basketball career, Tim dedicated 15 years of his life as a world traveled club rugby player for the Chicago Westside Condors RFC. Participating in the United States Rugby Football Union National Final Four Championship in 2001 & 2003, Tim served four years as President of a 75-member organization that toured internationally in Ireland, New Zealand, Fiji, Argentina, Brazil, France, Spain & Australia.
Moving onto the fuel of his passion.
Tim and Marlena (formerly Miglin) were married in the scenic town of Westport, County Mayo, Ireland in the early part of 2003. On the day of their wedding overseas, the gray Irish sky subsided long enough for a rainbow to be spotted over Clew Bay at the base of Croagh Patrick. It was a blessing of the great things to come.
Tim and Marlena are the beaming parents of two boys; Wedge Donovan Egan (named after a character John Wayne portrayed in the World War II film classic The Fighting SeaBees) and Tadgh Liam Egan (Tadgh is the ancient Irish name for Tim and Liam is in honor of Marlena’s father Lee).

Meet Tim Egan
These are my top three. There will be many more objectives and roles for me to fulfill as Ward Committeeman, and I look forward to being responsive and effective in every way that I serve.
03 October, on Leukemia & Lymphoma Society fundraising
Dear Tim,
Thank you so much for committing your time and energy into the 2007 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man of the Year campaign. While we didn’t win the Man of the Year crown, we did manage to raise over $10,000 for a worthy cause – to fund blood cancer research and patient services. We also contributed to the largest Man & Woman of the Year event in the history of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Illinois. All in, we raised over $400,000 in honor of patient survivors Jake Gadomski & Bridget O’Reilly. You will also notice a nice “Thank You” from the Society in the form of an Ad in this month’s Chicago Magazine. Thank you for personally making it such a huge success. I am still amazed that you were able to balance this as well as the Elect Egan campaign and the demands of a young family at home. You are an inspiration.
Thanks,
Dan Kinsella
